Rankin
John Waddell
was born in Paisley and brought up in St Albans, Hertfordshire. Whilst studying
accounting at Brighton Polytechnic, he realised that his interests lay
elsewhere and dropped out, taking up the study of photography at Barnfield
College Luton and then London College of Printing. During this time, Rankin met
Jefferson Hack, with whom he formed a working relationship. The two decided to
start a magazine together called Dazed & Confused once they had graduated.

Rankin photograph
The name of the photograph I have been studying is the queen and
was created by Rankin. The theme of the photograph is the queen
portraiture. The purpose of the photograph is for fashion and advertising. The most important thing in the photograph that the photographer focuses on is detail( write image/object that is clearest/ your eye is drawn to). The photograph was taken at Buckingham palace(in a studio, on location, etc). I think that the image is very fake realistic and a true event/posed/staged). Looking closely at the photograph I can see that the image itself has been digitally manipulated/has not been digitally manipulated, I can tell this because the the queen looks different Process
The light in the photograph is very contrasts with the light.
I would you describe the depth of field as (See photography key vocabulary)
The photographer has used a fast shutter speed
I was attracted to this photograph because of the colour . I like it particularly because of the detail It makes me feel normal(does it provoke an emotional reaction e.g. sadness, makes you laugh, intrigues you.
I would describe the mood of the photograph as the queen. The photographer has purposely set the mood of the photograph by making the queen smile.
The photographer has inspired me, I would like to produce similar photographs, I plan to take a photograph.
I think that the photographer is trying to deliver a message with this photograph, the message they deliver is that he can make the queen smile. My reason for thinking this is because the queen never smiles.

MY PHOTOGRAPHS.
I chose this photograph as my final piece because its the one I spent the most time trying to make it perfect and it shows you don't have to use lots of tools or photographs I only needed to use one. to do this. By doing this you just need to cut round the bit you want by using the pen tool then I needed to duplicate it by just copy and pasting it. Then I just messed around with it to try and find something which looks cool and stands out.
